Factory Fogs

I added a factory fog valance and some Depo clear fogs, switched w/ a factory fog headlight switch the other day ...

Before ...

After ...

Once installed, I didn't like how exposed the back of the fog light was to debris thrown up by the tires. I bent up some quick debris shields and mounted them over the back of the lights.

Without shields ...

With shields ...

Looks good man, How much of a pain of an *** was it to wire that up? I have an 01 F-150 and I'm planning on putting on the Harley Davidson front valance, but my truck didn't come with fog lights.

even without fogs, your truck is already pre-wired for the fogs. remove your headlight switch and you'll see the harness. and lay under the front of the truck and look up towards the headlights on each side and you'll see the other end

looks good fairlaner, i still consider the addition of the fog valance and clear fogs one of the best mods to do to the front end.. period

Looks great! How did you construct that shield?

Depends on trim and year. XLTs and up come with them, but base models and XLs do not.

Fairlaner, I love the idea of the guards over the back of the foglights. I've looked at mine before, and wondered how i could clean that up. Looks nice! You have given everyone here inspiration to tastefully mod their trucks, since you do it so well!! So much I need to copy from you yet!!

not entirely true. I have yet to find out what exactly constitutes them being prewired for fogs. My '02 reg cab XLT 4.2 was prewired for the factory fogs. My '03 supercab XLT 4.6 was not. Fairlaner's XL apparently was already wired.

Hm. Ford is really strange about that.

i'll try to take a pic tomorrow showing you where exactly to look (unless someone posts one here before then..) but i would imagine if you found one end, you'll find the other
