First off all...that doesnt make sense. No cats before the headers? Cats dont go before headers. You mean after the headers, before the muffler(s). Headers arent gonna do much? Longtubes WITH A CUSTOM TUNE will gain you 30 HP/35 TQ. 4.11 gears are nice, and are a definite improvement off the line vs 3.55s...but they are really mainly good for towing when you need the low end tq, and from 1-2 gear.

can you tell me the reputable source where you get the 30/35 gains from? I would like to see dyno graphs and/or a post where someone actually made those gains.

I remember one post by built54 where he did long tubes on his 5.4 where he already had all bolt ons with a PI head swap on non-pi block (10:1 compression opposed to 9:1) with cams. He gained about 20/20 peak hp/tq and gained the 30/35 at a much lower rpm.

I forget his name but he had a white jacked up screw and only gained 8whp peak.

Thats what Im sayin. The gains are in the lower RPM range, and are more than gears.

He had already deleted the cats is what I meant.

His truck was tuned before and after headers.

He ran 1/8 mile in his truck. I think doing the gear swap really helped him, but your right he did pick up some low end with the headers. After that he ran a 75 shot and that got the truck moving

Personally I'd go with longtubes.
