went outside after posting this and lstened to it to try and give a more in depth description. it seems to be on the passenger side i cant really hear it on the drivers side, the rattling seems to be louder from the cats to the tips than from the headers down. and also are there any tricks to pinpoint a exhaust leak besides listening

Try to hover your hand around where you think the leak is, if you feel hot air, you found it.

Micky D Drive thru chirping is the cat shields. Wrap a couple 7 or 8" band clamps around the converter to temporarily take care of it. If you have a welder, -a little Mig would work, you can position the tip of the gun at the converter seams then at a 45 degree angle w/the mig wire cut back flush to the tip. Pull the trigger for exactly 2 seconds, let go, reposition every 4 - 6", - then same deal, pull for 2 seconds, -move on.

That's if you want more of a permanent fix, -better spot welds.

Use a small shop vac and squirt bottle w/a little dish soap to check for leaks cold. Blower mode, shove it up your tail pipe, then hose down your seams w/soapy water. If it's leaking, you'll know it via Mr Bubbles.

You can used compressed air at about 15 lbs to pressurize check as well. It doesn't take much effort this way and you can definitely confirm how bad the leak is and where.

Good Luck.
