For those with LEDs in tails

Bought 4 3157 LED bulbs for the tail lights. Plugged them in. Brake light worked ONLY on passenger side. Flasher ONLY worked on passenger side, but BOTH front signals flashed. I switched bulbs. Now nothing. I ended up switching ALL 4 bulbs around into the flasher/brake and reverse light. Now nothing at all. Plugged my halogens back in and we have light. Whats going on here? Note: I HAVE AN LED FLASHER for the front signals.

LED bulbs have a + and a - side unlike incandescent bulbs. Make sure you have them plugged in the right way and that they are making good contact. Electrical parts cleaner is a must for old connectors to make sure they are clean and free of dirt etc.

So one side may work and another side may not work? I didnt even think of that. Ill give it another shot tomorrow. Ill also pick up some electric parts cleaner. Thanks blitz. Do you have LEDs in your tails?

I have led reverse lights, interior lights, courtesy lights on the step bars, led 3rd brake light, and led front turn signal/ marker lights. i had to buy special bulbls for the turn/ marker lights b/c if they dont have a certian resistor to balance the load they will blink fast like your bulb is out.

and you just have regular 3157 LEDs in the tails for the brake/tun signal? Or did you buy special bulbs for the front signal lights? And did you have any issues with the LED third brake light? Ive heard of guys running into issues where their cruise control doesnt work after the installation.

diodes are polarity sensitive. swap them around to make sure they are lined up correctly

I now have LED bulbs for my front turns. I got 2 load resistors off Ebay for like 3.50 each and work great.

As for the rears, I agree with the positive/negative connections. My Recons instructions (yes, I read them ) indicated this could be an issue

A LED 3rd brake light wont cause your cruise control to go out. It has nothing to wo with it and its not even on the same circut so i dont see how that can even be the case.

What was the load resistors b/c if I ever have to change back to the old style I need the amount of watts/amps for the resistor load. A link to what you bought would be great.

actually it is. go ask the 50+ plus people who dont have cruise because of LEDs in the CHMSL. IIRC it has to do with a ground for disabling it or something on the brake switch that is messing up, but a resistor rectifies this problem.

This is weird. I have 4 3157 LEDs. 2 of them are white, 2 are red. The red have 10 more LEDs than the whites. I got them all to turn on. The red are for the brake/flasher. The white are for the reverse lights. When I turn the flasher on the passenger side, both rear lights flash, but the fronts dont. Yet the front opposite flasher flashes ONLY on the CENTER LED bulbs (1 of 27) WEIRD! I took the reds out and put the whites in for the brake/flasher. All is good. Only one rear flashes like it should. Yet, the front opposite flasher of the one that is on, flashes ONLY the center LED (1 of 27) WTF?! I do have an LED flasher like I mentioned, but I was told on Lightningrodder to get a different one from VLEDs.com. Im just confused. Why isnt the red one working? And why is ONLY the center (1 of 27) bulbs on the front flashing on the opposite side? I had NO clue this would be such a PITA.

I don't remember them being that much, but must've been since this is what's listed from my feedback page. Here's the Ebay link:

Just for kicks, take out the LED flasher and put your old one back in and see what happens
