Freakin' trees!!

Weds. afternoon my wife stopped to pick up the kids from her mom and dad's. While inside she heard a loud noise. They all go out to find a large pine tree limb had fallen on my Screw! It smashed up the windshield bad but I couldn't find any other damage. I just knew my hood and roof were gonna be caved in when my wife called me to give me the bad news as she has a way of missing small details. Anyway, I called my insurance agent who told me I didn't have a deductable on glass breakage and The Glass Doctor would be calling me shortly. About 15 minutes later they call and set up an appointment to replace my windshield Monday afternoon. We had some hailstorms in our area last weekend and apparantly they are pretty booked up. Anyway, I go out and wash my truck this afternoon and I find a small dent on my roof also. At least being lifted I'll probably be the only one who will ever see it. It could have been a lot worse so I guess I had a little luck in the incident. Anyway, I just had to vent a little. I just hope the windshield replacement goes smoothly.

Geesh.. you are lucky...My truck could have been 200 yards from atree and the whole tree would end up on top of it.

Didn't know there was an issue with a particular windshield. My parents have replaced theirs 3 times now due to cracks in a period of just 2 years on a 01 sc 5.4
As far as I know, they have gotten them through their insurance at the same body shop (small town) Sounds like maybe they need to shop else where. i could only think maybe there was a loose body mount that was causing the cab to twist cracking their windshield.

Well remeber when using insurance they tell the shop what they can and can not use and it will always be what ever is cheapest.

Man, sorry to hear that. At least the windshield took most of the damage and not your truck/paint.

Isn't it Car-Lite windows, not Autolite that Ford uses? Whatever the case, even PPG makes a good window. Sucks what happened man.
