4x4 lightning

I'm sure this has been talked about to death, but how many of you guys have dropped a lightning engine in a 4x4 set up?

Love those L trucks, but it not being a 4x4 kinda kills it for me.

Also, does the oil pan need to be modified? Or is it a straight drop in deal?

There have been a few people.

Five0merc has everything ready to install once he gets back from his deployment.

There are a few people that hang out on LightningRodder.com who may be able to tell you...they may be members here too.

Yup: few of us have done it. Even fewer have done what I have.

there is alot to do for the swap, unless you have a complete engine. the engine will drop right in, but you still the heat exchanger and other misc. parts to make it work. and you need a custom tune.

but yes, it can be done.

No, both our engines were very similarly built. He started off with more boost, and wanted more. Built5.4 did a great job with his engine, and then stepped it up for traction too.

Yea I am in the middle of collecting parts for my build. The first thing I am doing when getting back from my deployment is my ZF6 swap though. Can't wait to get that 6 speed in my truck!!! I still need to order my pistons and rods for my 5.4 S/C build though.
