Uses 5-30 in what? Yours takes 5-20. Motorcraft semi blend is good oil and cheap. Can be had at walmart with the filter for about $20. Asking what's a good oil is asking a lot.... of opinions most of the time. There are some analysis that show some good results and bad results, but on individual vehicles. Which to me, doesn't apply to everyone. But again, I think most run the motorcraft 5-20 semi blend with a motorcraft filter. I'm sure just about every other kind is being used from royal, redline, amsoil, castrol... etc. I say convenience, price, and quality all point to motorcraft.

My dad has 1998 F150 he has always used 5-30 in it. His car uses 5-20. The local dealer said use 5-30 in a 2000 4.6

My 2000 5.4 F150SCAB4x4 recommended 5w30 and that is what I ran in it for the 105,000 miles that I put on it before selling.
My current 2002 5.4 F150 SCAB FX4 recommends 5w20 and I use Motorcraft syn blend or the fake synthetic such as Valvoline or Pennzoil.

Use mobil 1 or motocraft. I have used quaker state full synthetic every change for about 3years. I usually change my oil every 4-5k.

Labnerd doesn't think much of Mobil 1. Do a search.

If you use Mobil 1, use 5w20 EP. If you are going to change the oil every 5k, don't waste your money on any "synthetic" - just use the Motorcraft at less than 3 bucks a quart.

Do they make the Mobil1 EP in 5w20? I use the EP 5w30 and change it once a year.

Yessir, that's what I use - 5w20 EP and a M1 filter. I change it every 10k.
