2wd lifted tire and rim size?

I have a 2wd ext cab. 3 in body lift. and 3.5 in spindles, and 2 in rear blocks.

I currently have 285/75/16s on a 16x7.
I want to get a wider rim, but when i turn about half way now i only have about 1 - 1.5 inches to spare....
Id like to run a 16x8 or 16x10.
Has anyone done this before? and if so wat size tires did you run and how much lift did you have?
And if anyones ran a 16x10 before a 2wd. how much lift did you need to clear them without any trimming.

thejake1989 has 16x10s on his truck. Only 2wd I've seen on here with that size. He has 6" of lift and 35s

my truck has spindles with a 1.5" coilspacer and a 3" block. I have fx4 wheels which are 17x7.5 with 4.5 backspacing. I have 285/75r17 (34x11.5) nitto terra grapplers and they do not rub AT ALL. If you have spindles and a 3" body lift I dont think you would have a problem running 35's on a 16x8 wheel as long as it has 4.5" backspacing. If you go any wider of a wheel or different backspacing I think that is where you will run into problems. My fronts stick out just a little bit from the edge of the fender, its enough to give it a more aggressive stance without going too much. I also have 1.25" rear wheel spacers to match the back width to the front and it looks MUCH better like that.

As long as they have the right back spacing, running a 10" wide wheel shouldn't be a problem.

All lift spindles widen the front track width. This is why most people with lifted 4x2's use 8 inch wide wheels.

With my 3in bl and 3.5in spindles you think i could run a 16x10 without em rubbin? be to me with my 16x7s they are veryyy close to rubbin at about half a turn.
Ill get some pics up of a few angles of it.

What is the back spacing on these new wheels you're wanting to run? I'd think at best case scenario you will only have to trim your lower valance some. But the back spacing makes a big difference, so let us know.

Everyone else is correct. Mine are 22x9.5 and I have 5" of backspacing. DO NOT get 5". It may be because my control arms are a little larger but I have a slight rub on them which is forcing me to get wheel spacers. 4.5" or less and you will be fine.

So if i get a 16x10 and 4 or 4.5" back spacing I'll be set? And rubbing the front valance is no problem. I can trim if need be. would rather not but i can.
But I do have one question about the back spacing. The higher the number the further it tuckes the tire under the truck or sticks it out? (im not too informed in this rim size stuff.)
Thanks for all the help so far guys!

And rubbin the inner fender i suppose you mean the plastic peice and not the corner of the body. corret? bc that wouldnt be a problem ether.
