2001 supercrew rebuild

i have a 2001 ford f-150 xlt supercrew 4x4 with a 5.4 and 4r70.. that i payed $200.00 for... the motor is junk,i think, its missing the key,a buddy of mine is working for the guy that origianally drove this truck which was in his mothers name. so the title is basically 1 owner..and hasnt been registered since 02 it has sat at the same place since summer of 2006 which is where my friend lives...the rockers have rotted from front to back theres a broken grill and headlight, small dent in the drivers rear door and a small crack on the driver side bed and a dented tailgate and a very dirty mice smelling interior, also the mice have chewed on the underhood insulation and who knows what else...im guessing that most of this damaged was done while it was setting it was buried with yard waste and plowed snow when i arrived im now in the process of getting the key made, which requires a tow to ford and a tow home from ford just to get the key $200.00+.....this is the point that im at now.so first thing monday morning im calling ford to make an appointment and i will keep things posted

A good price though. You may have to sink 3-5k into it, new engine etc... But with a straight body and clean title... it will be well worth it. I would love to pick up a supercrew for $200. Be a fun project. I would be concerned about the mice... they can reek havoc on the wiring. When you find your donor, go ahead and swoop on the dash and engine harness just for sakes. Get some pics posted of the resurrected thing.

im in jackson mi and so far my total cost or 349.00 total with the price of the truck and the cost of fuel and title transfer..the truck also will probably need tires, the tires on the truck have good tread but im thinking that there is most likely flat spots, and brakes,i had to beat the breaks with a hammer to get the inner e-brakes loosened up

I'm going to try to have it road worthy for around 1500 total but probably not going to be that cheap being that replacement motors are so expensive I have seen a 5.4 on craigslist for 500.but I'm sure its gone by now but 1500 is my goal
