Big Bertha

She doesnt look bad for 12 years old. I have a few quick questions though.
Seeing as i am only 17 years old and i am just starting out in the vehicle maintenance area, please do not talk to me like i am below you. Thanks

So first thing, The Drivers door has a spot where the clear coat has started to come off. How should that be taken care of?
The Leather insert on the drivers door panel has started to come out near the top.
My headlights are starting to get that yellowish look and kinda rough texture to them, i know someone said get some of the mother polish, but i would be open to other ideas and the best one.
Also, the custom emblems that i have now are becoming of an yellowish color and a orange peel texture. Anyway i could fix that to make it back to red with silver letters?

Would appreciate all ideas allot! Thanks!

Welcome! Excellent looking truck, and even better color (I'm biased).

The headlight restoration kits typically come with a small pad of fine grain sandpaper used to eliminate the texture cause from oxidation and other things. The mothers kit is by far the best or I have seen yet.

Post pictures of your emblems of you can, and we can tell you what may be happening with them. (sounds like clear coat oxidation to me)

Are those emblem gel, or another material of overlay?

Or were they opened up and painted to match the truck?

It looks like normal oxidation to me, but I can't tell which side it's on.

And don't ditch your Lightning headlights! Just grab a restoration kit and go to town! Even some 1500 grit wetsanding, some rubbing compound, and a buffer or mother powerball/cone will work great! I used that on my corner lenses and they look brand new.

Dunno if others do this as well, but once you get your headlights cleaned up, wax them just like you would your paint. I've always waxed my tail lights and headlights since I bought the truck new and they still look great to this day. Never had any oxidation or the need to get a kit to clean them up.

They were bought off a website i do not remember, but they used to feel like the original emblems, so no they are not jell. Im going to see if the kit for the headlights might work on it or not.
