1997 trailer wiring question

I have a 97 reg shortbox to which I want to wire a seven into five wiring harness. I am sure i read on here somewhere, that there is a fuse problem or something like that on this truck . I cant seem to find the thread on here from where I read this now , Does anybody know of any such problems I may encounter when i get around to wiring this truck in the spring ??? Thanks for all your input on this ...

Haven't heard of that, but your fuses are in the fuse block closest to the firewall fastened to the inner fender. I made a detachable harness for the rear, they tend to take a beating. -

What is 5 wire harness? I have the regular tow harness (7 wires) and a plug-in for 4 wires. Haven't heard of 5-wire before.

I haven't heard of any fuse problem. The only peculiarity of 97 is that tow fuses are in a separate fuse block as JBREW replied.

JBREW,
Did you fabricate the cable? Quite a skill. I don't even know the pinouts.

Their all the same and can be easily looked up online. The only trick is, when you look then up, use google image search and you get the diagrams. If that's even a trick lol. That's how you get picks and diagrams of just about anything. You can even get video with You Tube.

I actually have a seven into five I bought at an auto parts store , what this does is , when i reverse, the power from the reverse lights disengage the surge brake on my boat trailer so i dont have to get out of the truck and pin it open .....it works very well and guys thanks for responding , I think what i read was that the fuses are in a separate block as JBREW said thats what i was readng for sure ...... thanks again for your responses . It's GREAT people that make this a GREAT site .... thanks again
