Yea and chances are if it blew both fuses they probably didn't use high quality power or ground or the right gauge of wire.

Was not half assed, Im 17 years old. My father installed it for me. This was his truck, he babied it. Im not sure if it was both fuses or the one or the other, he did the work while i was sitting truckless for blowing it in the first place. On second hand, My cab is a extended and it will be mounted under the passenger rear seat.

i installed mine when i was 16, my cabs extended and the amps mounted on top the box which replaced the rear seat, not trying to bash you man just trying to point out your fuse should be a lot closer to the battery, its a safety issue.

My fuse is under the dash where it is supposed to be. The fuse that it built into the amp is under the rear seat, that is where yours is located. So whats the problem?

If the fuse under the dash is the one on the power wire then it shouldn't be there. It should be within a foot of the battery, it can cause the wire to burn out and cause fires when its that far away. Or it can short out and kill your battery. And if the amp under the seat gets really hot that can burn it out or at the very least overwork and cause fuses to blow too.

The fuse should be a maximum of 21 Centimeters from the battery

Hes right....definitely within a foot and if its a decent size amp i would mount it somewhere with more ventilation and not under the seat

Its not like a 3000wat amp, its a small amp, just enough to power my speakers.

And I am sure your dad used the corresponding wire, which means the fuse needs to be within a foot of the battery. Not trying to bash your dad or you, but people make mistakes. No one who does audio installs will tell you to put the power fuse in the vehicle anywhere but 1 foot or less from the battery.

Also, what kind of wire did you dad use, what gauge, what type of fuse, how long is the run, how much power is the amp rated for, what gauge ground did he use, how long is the ground, did he strip the paint where he attached the ground?

Just because someone can install something doesn't mean they did it correctly. Again, not trying to attack you, but your dad is not a professional audio installer. It doesn't matter if its your amp or my amp, either one can make wires heat up to unsafe levels and can cause fires.

I agree with everyone else. An amp of any size (unless factory installed) should be wired directly to the battery for main power. Unless...... you are referring to the blue wire "turn on" lead, but that is normally connected to the head unit itself

No ones bashing you or your family, young one. Just trying to give good informational help. ALOT of good talent on here
