Amp Questions

So, today some pliers hit my amp and shorted it out. I tried putting a new fuse it in but still no power. The current amp supplies my 4 speakers, and this is the amp "Alpine V12 4/3/2 Channel Power Amplifier MRV-F307". My question is, is there anyone who knows a good replacement that later down the road would power a sub also? And possibly could fit in the same holes?

Thanks, and i know this is my first post! So i am no longer a f150 board virgin! YAY

-Chris.

did you check both sets of fuses? theres one by the battery on the power cord then generally theres some on or in the amp. or chances are it bridged a ground and a hot point and burned out the wire i've had that happen a couple times.

We need some specifics about the set up, like what resistance are you running it at, how much power do you have going to the speakers now, and how much power do you want for the sub later on?

I'd be willing to bet that the inline fuse to the battery is blown.

It was the fuse under the dash, as well as the one on the amp itself. So it all works now. I am thinking about making a custom box to go under the other side of the seat. Anyone have any suggestions for plans? Or a amp.

As far as the enclosure goes... Measure, remeasure, and measure some more. Are you wanting to use as much under the seat as possible? Are you using fiberglass or MDF? Im just finishing up my newest setup (whch also serves as more support for my daughter's carseat). I will take pictures when I install it this weekend.

And as for subwoofer.. Will you be mounting the subwoofer under the seat, infront of it....

There are tons of options, just gotta use the imagination.

Welcome to the board by the way!

Probably the one that is supposed to be protecting the wire. Although it should be a lot closer to the battery if I am not mistaken.

yea i was gonna say it should be within like a foot of the battery, otherwise it can cause serious fires
