Looks more like 66 IMO, but yes, that would be a different part.

It's obviously a little different. First time I've seen that.

I think its a 66 also.

SES light finally came on so I had it read again today. Misfire in #5 and misfire in first 1000 revolutions.

I kept asking him what the code said and he kept repeating "Misfire in #5 and misfire in first 1000 revolutions." And I said, "No, I mean the numbers." He said, "Oh, I already cleared them" So those are what I am working with now and have COPs on their way. Maybe changing plugs fixed the misfire in #1 that I got from a previous reading.

Those guys aren't suppose to clear DTC's, - even if you ask them to.

Your suppose to do that, that guy screwed yuh. You still have the problem and now you have nothing on the KAM,- No DTC. Your suppose to fix, then reset the KAM yourself. For relearn, that guy was a A-hole for doing that, I'd be mad.

At- least you know what cylinder it was.

KAM = KeepAliveMemory btw.

Yea it was pretty aggravating because as I asked him what the codes were and he repeated #5 misfire and misfire in first 1000 revolution all the while pushing buttons and I said 'no, the numbers' and he said he already cleared them.

Moving on though, I don't understand the misfire in first 1000 revolutions. Can that be explained and what code is that?

Simple and short explanation -

The Misfire Monitor runs continuously, calculating misfires every 200 and 1000 engine revolutions.

First 1000 revolutions is just that, count after ignition vs say, -under load while in gear.

You HAD two DTC's on the KAM

P0316 Misfire Detected On Startup (First 1000 Revolutions)
P0355 Ignition Coil E Primary/Secondary Circuit
P0305 Cylinder #5 Misfire Detected

Most likely the two in bold.

I can explain the Algorithm Processing if you want that..?

No need.

Those were the two codes that came up.

I imagine the P0316 is also caused by faulty COPs so hopefully I'll be all set when my new COPs arrive.

COPs arrived and I replaced #5 and went ahead and replaced #1 (got that reading before, but not after new plugs). I still have a miss but it is not as bad as before but not good by any means. I'm going to have the codes checked again and this time there will be no chance of them being erased.

Had to go for a drive so I had the codes ran again. P0171. Continued on and on way back through town I got a flashing SES and stopped and had them read again. P0171 of course and P0301. So #1 is misfiring with a brand new plug and COP.

I am going to investigate the 171 and may be steal an injector from my dad.

Problem solved and boy do I feel simple lol. I started investigating #1s injector and quickly figured out that the electrical connections plastic part doesn't stay on for crap on and while swapping out COPs I had knocked it loose and it was barely on there but not plugged in. I plugged it back in and zip tied tight and I've got a non missing truck for the first time in forever and no codes yet either. I think it is good to go so I want to tell everyone thanks.
