Help....

F150....4.2 auto, backing in to the driveway and it dies....no sputtering or spittin, just dies as if I turned off the key. Now it wont start,(does crank) I have checked all the fuses, Found I dont have any spark. (Just grounded a plug to the block and cranked the engine).....I do have 12 volts on one wire of the plug that connects to the coil pack. Would this indicate a bad coil pack, or should I look else where?
Thanks for any suggestions

I was backing in when the problem occurred, just a coincidence that it happened then....all of the above applies while in park, The battery is new and fully charged, I put the trickle charge on it just in case....

My Kid had something like that, he burned one of the fusable links. Fixed it and had one heck of a time running down the reason it burnt. His turned out to be a wire to the coil (old Bronco) and when he would turn the stuff would flex enough to short out. Had to replace it about 6 times before we tracked down the problem.

Good luck.

Cam position sensor. Kills the fuel pump. Had it happen to me right as I drove past a Ford dealer. How coincidental

Ok, I have looked all over my 4.2 v6 for the cam position sensor....supposed to be at the back of the engine, just forward of the firewall, Am I not looking deep enough, I expected to at least see the top of it, assuming it would not be easy to reach for replacement.....anyone have a picture, I always was better with a picture in front of me.........Thanks
