tire life

Okay so i just went and got my tires rotated and balanced. And realized my tires are 7 years old with 85,321 miles and still have a good tread life to go.
I have goodyear eagle gt2 tires 275/60r17. I am hoping to get 90,000-100,000 miles out of them.

So i was just wondering how many miles and type of tires do yall have. After i go through these i am thinking about getting another set. Even though thwy have almost doubled in price since i bought them last time in 03

Nice....... This is a testament to tire rotations, alignments, good tire pressure, and soforth!

My 265's.. I put 30,000 on them, and they were on it when I bought the truck a few years ago. Only replaced to go up to 285's.

My 02 Screw came with General Grabbers on it. They went almost 70,000 miles miles and then I gave up and put a set of REVOs on it. Now that has to be the absolute worst tire I've ever bought. Great ride, great wet handling but don't expect to go around corners like I could with the Grabbers. Even normal driving was a test of nerves.
My 04 SCrew came with Continentals. They got to the point I was having flats every other week so I replaced them, with the same tire as that's all I could get my hands on, at about 36,000 miles. They handled great, ride was good, fuel mileage was excellent. The next tires was a set of Yokohamas. The Yokos ride great, quiet, handle fabulous wet or dry, fuel mileage fell by a whopping 27%. I had also gone up one size to 265-60-17 but the mileage issue is the tires are suppose to carry only 35lb max air pressure. The Contis were a 44lb tire. I have since gone up in air pressure and got some of the mileage back. After putting a little over 20,000 miles on them, no odd tire wear, I'd say that the factory spec of 35lbs max is wrong. As far as wear, I can't tell any thread has worn off at all. These will probably rot off before they wear out.

my dads 00 PSD had some 35" BFG AT's on it that have about 70k, they're pretty bald now that I've been roasting them off.

I bought mine with the factory General 255-70-16's on it with 55k and they had tread left. They sucked in the rain so I put a new set of BFG Long Trail T/A's on it, they now have 70k on them with plenty of tread left.

I have a set of Michelin XC 4's on my Van that were made in 2000 and they have about 96,000 miles on them and they are still at 5/32nd... My brother in law has a set of Michelin Cross Terrians that have about 85,000 miles on em with tread still left. Dad has a set of Michelin LTX's that have 62,000 miles on em and they are about half worn..

My king ranch came with the BFG Long trails(got 70,000 miles) from the factory. When i got the truck the ford dealership put a new set of it continental Conti Tracks on it and i put about 30,000 miles on them and they were getting pretty bald(3/32nd) so i got another set of BFG long trails and the tread wear is excellent on them(16,000 miles and 8/32nds). The BFGS are a pretty good tire. 3 sets of tires 116,000 miles isnt too bad
