Fule pump

Was about to start on replacing my fuel pump and thought I would come on and see if there were any tricks/info I should know about, or links/videos I could check out (for a little confidence:o) before I get started..

I have a 2001 F150 7700 series 5.4 standard cab long bed 4x4.
Thanks, Ed

Is that pump for inside the tank??
It doesn't look like the stock that I have already bought, part # XL3Z9H307CB, I could return it though...

if you already made the purchase then so be it, but since you're in there you might as well go large, just in case you ever decide to step up the power of the truck

I did mine a couple weeks ago, biggest problem for me was the rubber hoses. Besides that I had to get set of line disconnect tools, the one I had for the filter didn't fit the high side line.

New pumps in the box on ebay , I think they were around $50. Some guy had a "lot" of factory pumps. I seen them last night.

I think the same guy had a box of cruise control harness updates lol. Selling a box of 10 , -cheap.

Angry

Well got to the point of putting the new one in (oem) and it is about 2"to long
Bro in law is a parts guy here in PHX for Brown & Brown and always saves me big bucks on parts. Not sure where the mixup accrued. Hate to wait to Finnish Monday, so I'm thinking of getting an aftermarket from Checker or auto zone or Napa Sunday.
Do you guys know if they stock the 255lph or do you have to order them online somewhere?
What do they cost ?
Thanks, Ed

I bought a 1998 model F150 for $650....it needed a fuel pump.....I bought the whole setup that slips down into the tank at Oreillys auto parts for $190......I took the 8 bolts out of the bed, lifted the bed off with a tractor loader, and replaced pump.....took 1 hr and 15 minutes start to finish...........by taking off the bed you can work on it like a human being and not have to drop a tank with any fuel in it.........Good luck
