the info you need is in this thread somewhere. i know because this is what i used to do my 97. i cant remember if it tells how to remove the switch as the 97 and 98s are different in that regard. if i remember right you turn the switch on, pull it for fog, stick something in the slot in the back of the finger hold, pull and the switch comes off. then turn it 180 degrees and stick it back on, turn the lights off and then back on, and then the switch should pull out ( the whole assembly)

doing this mod will give you the ability to have fogs with parking lights and fogs with brights.

on a side note, i have wanted to ask for some time, does anyone know how the multi function switch works? im pretty sure that when you use the flash to pass your dims stay on. (all i know is it seems brighter when you hold the flash to pass than just your typical brights) anyway, is it possible to switch the wires that control the brights and flash to pass so that when you turn on your brights your dims stay on too? basically i want to make the front of my truck as bright as possible at night without adding a bunch of lights.

Jumping the black w/ white stripe wire and the brown wire will allow the fog light to operate any time the parking lights are on (and the fog switch is pulled). Jumping these wires w/o modifying the switch will allow the fogs to operate w/ both high and low beams (modifying the switch allows the fogs to operate w/ just the parking lights also).

The reason the lights are brighter when you hit FTP is because both high and low filaments are lit. When you flick on high-beams, the power to the low filament is shut off.

Wire up a relay with an ignition lead wired into the ignition solenoid and power from the battery to the relay to the fogs
