because the 04-08 trucks have the "od off" light on the cluster not on the shifter. So im using my spare light in my cluster "4wd engaged" light as my "OD off"
true, but I didnt look up the diagram for that, so i wont have that information on hand to be duplicated by someone else.
Anyways here are the pics from yesterday, more of my work on the truck, less of the actual project work. Found out the bracket i need is 10 bucks, and ill have it by monday.
Build date sticker on the dash behind the passenger airbag
Dash ready to come out
Dash out, ready to rewire and catalog my accessories wires
I wanted to wrap my AC ducts with insulation while i had the dash out, unfortunately the inner dash support is also the ducts, so didnt really wrap all the way around them like i had invisioned. But was able to wrap the tops which would be most important from the hot dash. Also wrapped the bulk head behind the radio which can get quite warm as well.
Lots of parts
Time was running short so this is far as i got the truck back together, basically together enough to drive it
And finally here is my diagrams for my console wiring, feel free to decipher them and copy my work
This looks like an insane amount of work to put your shifter on the floor. Having the shifter in the column is a selling point for me. It's up and out of the way and the center console has more room for storage and toys. Is there some sort of performance gain to be had from this mod or is it strictly a preference thing?
...scratches head
I can appreciate the hard work and effort it takes to accomplish however. Nice job.

uhhhh, yea, I think I'll keep my simple console swap! I couldn't imagine tearing a dash apart like that!!
Only needed to pull the main bubble on top left half of the dash to get to the instrument cluster, but I wanted to pull the dash for my other wiring projects as i mentioned earlier

Just a preference, wanted to try something that hasnt been done before. I like doing things a little outside the box. Pulling the entire dash out would not be required to do the swap, just enough to get to the instrument cluster harness.

Damn man! Yet another modification you weren't joking around with. This looks awesome man. A definite first for the 10th gen trucks. Can't wait to see the progress man.
