anyone with 3" body lift?

I know some people hate the idea of a body lift and some people have no issue with it at all. Was talking to one of my good friends today and she was asking what I want for a birthday present (21st birthday is coming up in not too long). I was saying that I had no idea. She has been known to spend a bit of money on me before, atleast for a friend (no booty call here btw). Her uncle works on trucks and she likes how my truck is turning out. She did mention she thinks I should get it lifted more which I replied that the only way I can really think of doing that would be cranking the torsion bars or putting a body lift on it. By the way she made it sound, she might be convinced at getting me a body lift but its not for sure. My biggest problem with a body lift is I don't know how I feel about the gap, I know theres ways to hide it but I was hoping that you guys might be able to find me close up pics of the gaps. Both up close and from a distance. I heard 1-2 inches you won't really notice it but with 3 you will. I looked at a couple of peoples body lifts but no pics have really given me the exact thing I am looking for..

Any help?

I figured a body lift > new iphone (she thinks mines outdated)

Ive got a body lift on mine and have helped install MULTIPLE body lifts on other trucks including 3 more 97-03 F150's. If you get the gap gaurds they will definitely hide the gap between the bed and the frame. aswell as the gap in the front fender well. The other big thing is a set of stepbars. They will hid the frame since it will have 3" more visible. (theres no gap, just more frame exposed). I do recommend getting a set of stepbars that are semi sleak, not nerf bars. As nerf bars make the truck look lower. I made my own gap gaurds for the rear fender openings and left the gap in the front.

BEFORE GAP GAURDS

AFTER GAP GAURDS

hope that helps

I have pics in my gallary. Get the 3 inch kit because everything just lines up better with the 3 inch kits.

Yeah you definitely want the 3" kit since it comes with front and rear bumper brackets, the installation isn't that bad, I've done two and it usually takes a day or two to finish. Instead of buying the gap guards you can buy some length of black rubber mat they sell at lowes or home depot to make them which will save you some money. The front gap never really bothered me its the back that's most noticeable

4.2 trimble, that thing is a beast. Step bars/running board same thing?

How does the hitch being lower than the frame seem to you, does it bother you much? This was one thing I was considering that might bother me but its hard to tell in pictures rather than person im sure. At some instances seems fine others it seems huge

GaNole07.

Thats what I have seen everywhere I went is that the 2" doesnt have the brackets so you have to weld your own, for the 20-30 dollars extra it seems itd be worth getting.

Also, not sure if you guys know but I was reading a forum once where the guy lifted his whole body with a body lift. It cost him a bright pretty penny but was curious if i I did the body lift, if that was something still able to do down the road.. Or is it a special kit that raises everything? I know the person claimed they had a body lift but they also raised the tow hitch and everything with it

If you guys have to go back in time and make the decision to pick the body lift all over, would you do it?

And know any cheap sites?

I would do it over again, probably put one on my 97' when my 33's wear out. The kit comes with everything you need, I got mine off ebay for around $150. I wouldn't worry about the hitch being too low it looked fine on my 02' I just painted it flat black to make it look better. Not really even sure how you'd go about raising the hitch, seems like it would be a hassle

here are some old pics of my truck with no gap gaurds. I never minded the gap but it got brought up a lot so I finally did the home depot rubber mat trick.
