ok, i made a decision.. this weekend im done being lazy lol... After going to the dunes and scratching the truck on one side i need to buff her out.. Figured while im at it i will paint my fender flares finally.. if i can get to it.. paint the bottom vailance and the wiper cowels.. Also planning on switching out my fuel filter, cleaning out my k n air filter and i doubt ill switch the spark plugs but i will need to..

Anyone else have cheap ideas on how to pick up my gas mileage? Might try the gotts mod depending on what else i get done.. Figured I would bust *** on her so i can take a break for awhile.. plus weather is decent and winters coming up.. heres her at the beach

Change your fuel filter like you stated. Change spark plugs. front o2 sensor's.
Clean throttle body. Gotts mod will help. Even running some fuel system cleaner through your gas tank on your next fillup will help out a bunch. (here is what i have used)

edit: replaced pic with the right one

How hard would you rate the spark plugs, or do you take it in? I once bought the spark plugs and once looking under the hood, everyones reaction was "yea... right". I don't know anything about the sensors, Ive heard of them and how they have this issue or that, or do this or that and you need to do this or that not to pis it off lol, didn't realize you can change them. I did a power pack at oil canned henrys, not sure if it helped much, maybe a tad but ill have to look into throttle body, I don't even know what that is, newbness i know!. that fuel cleaner, you just mix it in with the gas and it doesnt cause any problems?

Spark plugs=not hard if you have the tools.
o2 sensors=good to chage if you know how
throttle body=idk much either just heard to clean it
fuel cleaner= ya just on your next fillup get close to full stop add that in your tank and then finish filling up. it will do wonders

Depending what I'm doing reflects on what I'll get. If in mudding I'll get 9 ish. Going to the coast and driving up anddown the dunes and back with a quad in the back I got roughly 8.6. On average I get 9.8-10. I got 11.2 when I super babied her. Before the lift and tires I was getting 12-13.

I may have to look into that fuel cleaner stuff. For the price may be great. Hmm. I really need to do my spark plugs. Hopefully I'll have a friend free and willing to try doing it.

ya the cleaner is only like $2-$5 at walmart.. use it every 5-7 times when you get more than half a tank at the station and itl do wonders.

as for spark plugs read my thread i had up. theres some links in there on how to change them. its how i learned when i went to do mine.

What he's saying is that the bigger tires throw your speedo and odometer off slightly and when you calculate your fuel mileage you may be actually getting better than the result...bigger tires=less rotations=lower odometer numbers

Mine does the same thing...about 25 mph I'm actually like 27.5, 60 mph I'm actually around 65
