Need a hand with remote start issues!

Hey guys, my factory remote start quit working this summer and it's getting colder outside. I need it up and running again. Anything I can do to re-flash or reset or re-program it? The truck responds to the signal but just flashes the lights and doesn't start.

alright i put some time in to this and can't get it to work. i followed the instructions posted in the link about getting into tach learn mode and i pressed the brake peddle, cycled the ignition switch twice, and let go of the brake. the parking lights would not flash twice indicating the learn mode was active. nothing happened at all.

this is exactly what happens. i push the blue button on my remote for starting the engine. the truck responds by flashing the lights and the interior gauges light up as if the ignition switch was switched ON. then, when the engine should start cranking, it goes black on the panel and everything switches off. nothing happens for 5 seconds, then the process repeats. the cycle occurred 4 times and then it is completely over.

i am stuck guys, help!

Sit in the vehicle when it is trying to start and look at the SECURITY light in the instrument cluster. When it doesn't start is this light flashing quickly?

nope, the security light doesn't flash quickly. i have the red THEFT light and it behaves regularly during the whole process.

It would be good to know what system # your running. Look under the dash at the Car Starter box. Should be located by the fuse box. Write the name & numbers down.

got it dealt with. couldn't find the problem myself so i mentioned it to the dealer when i took my truck in for an oil change yesterday.

turns out the cranking grounding wire on the remote start box had corroded and broken off the firewall. they drilled a new grounding hole and put some new wire on and it works perfectly now. they had to run a diagnostic and do some trouble shooting or some deal but for 60 bucks total cost i'm not complaining!
