Popping noise after spindle lift...?

I just added a 3.5" Fabtech spindle lift to my '01 4x2 F150. Now I occasionally (but becoming more frequent) hear a popping noise, usually when I am turning like pulling into my drive way. I'm concerned its my ball joints.... any advise?

I would check for play in the Ball joints and in the tie rods. If you got an alignment after the install your shop should have brought this to your attention.

It sounds like it would be your ball joints, did you have a manuel when doing this since there is a speacial way to install ball joints but I am not sure what that is on our trucks since I have never had to do them. It also could be your sway bar links if you have one.

There is also a possibility that the nut on the ball joint isnt tight enough. i ran into the same situation when i installed my spindles. If you tighten that nut with just a ratchet and socket sometimes the nut won't tighten all the way it will just grab on the ball joint stud and spin the ball joint instead of tightening. If your ball joints seem to still be in good shape try tightening them with an impact.

Ball joints that havent been greased properly will pop when you turn.

I had the same problem when I first installed my 3.5 lift spindles until I went with a different kit. My balljoints are brand new and popped occasionally. As B2 stated, when you grease them it should solve the problem.
