The more times you run it low down to the light, the more you are reducing the life of your fuel pump. It depends on fuel in the tank to cool it.

You have a lot more than 20 miles when the light comes on - you have somewhere between 3 and 4 gallons left.

I live in a town where the gas station closes really early, and work 15 or so miles away, so Ive had times when Ive worked double shifts and forgot to get gas, thus causing the stupid gas light to come on. Never heard it chime though.

Damn, I didn't get that option. I distinctly told the salesmen I wanted every available option. Maybe it wasn't one back in 98 ? I wasn't aware of the 7700 series back then either ,- or I would of purchased that one instead. I guess that's my fault for not knowing back then, -and trusting the salesmen.

The 7700 didn't come out until 2000. Until then it was a F-250 Light Duty.

Yea, I was going to go with a 3/4 ton, but liked the feel of the f150. I was placing trailers @ events and some of those suckers were heavy, - like 8500 lbs. Needless to say, I ended up purchasing another truck a year later, that was a 99 1 Ton w/7.3L , -may she rest in peace. I totalled her out in the mountains, going thru PA. I made it with out a scratch, she didn't. I miss that truck for sure.

Oh okay. Hey do you know what years the F250 had the same body style as the 150 ? I don't see to many of those anymore.

Maybe that was the Light duty only ?
