I had a 01 f150 and it didnt chime and my 03 doesnt chime either. I always have run mine from full to empty every tank. When the low fuel light comes on i can get another 35 miles on it easy and still have a gallon left. I think its best if you can to go from F to E that away you have Fresh gas in the tank all the time. be nice though if it would chime

My 03 XL doesn't chime. I'm guessing it's part of a convenience package or something.

Coy, don't come back crying when your fuel pump craps out. You are asking for trouble operating it like that.

Never had a problem with any fuel pumps, my truck has 112,000 miles and never had a problem also have a 95 f150(Bought Brand New) that has always been run all the way to E all the time and it has 319000 miles on it with original fuel pumps. To the Op i would really like to know what you find out on the chime.

JP im not sure. at this point anything could be true. which that may very well be is where it was assembled at. But also if it was where it was assembled at is the case if they left somethin our or didnt include something wouldnt they have a recall???

and coy thats what im saying on fuel pumps its our trucks let us do what we want and obviously its just their opinion on fuel pumps they arent mechanics their just think they are so do what u do.
and il keep everyone posted.
