5.4 Vs 4.2

I will take a 4.6 with a PISC over a turbo v6 any day man.
I will take a 5.4 with a Eaton over a 4.6 with PISC anyday.
This is what turbo 4.2 reminds me of......

idk...I think a turbo 4.2 is cool. And that certain owner just dealt what he had to deal with...it was his first truck and he decided to make it fast...and it works. So I don't see how it's compared to rice 
But yes, I do agree with you on taking a s/c 4.6 or s/c 5.4 over a turbo 4.2. But I'd def. take a turbo 4.2 over stock 4.6 or 5.4. He has vids of him beating L's. Not by alot, but he does win over a stock L. That said, I'd take a stock L over a turbo 4.2.

I am just waiting to get flamed for posting the ricer pic. I have buddies with 4.2s and we have raced before and they didnt stand a chance. I have no idea what these guys are doing to theirs to make them so fast. I am not sure if me having 4:56s on 33s at that time had something to do with it? I was just last night hanging out with my two buddies and one has a 04 ranger edge with a 4.0 on 33s and 4:10s and he lost to a guy with a 4.3 chevy reg cab shortbed 1500. Then I beat the guy with the chebby by a couple car lengths. I don't know what mods the chevy has other than true duals, but he was quick off the line. I know I cant prove anything without videos and what not, but I know what I did and some of these races seem pretty BS to me.

honestly guys I dont need a race truck I have a motorcycle to go fast on. Im happy that my truck gets 19 and 20 mpg being a 4.2L Can anybody else get that in their 4.6 or 5.4? Doubt it. Everybody has their purpose for their truck. Mine is just a driver mainly I don't really haul stuff but every once in a while. I dont need to go fast to do that. lol
I know some of you are joking around for good fun but honestly guys why would you try to race your 4.2 against a 5.4? I would just sell mine and get a 5.4 if I wanted to have a race truck. lol. no offense but come on!

Ford makes mustangs the way they want them and people buy them....so much so they haven't had to quit producing them like the gay slowmaro. Mustang is a legend and will always be. The last Camaro Chebby made that was even worth looking at was in 69'. They rest are pitiful. I do agree that the 4.2 is a better motor than the 305 tho....they do suck pretty hard.
and you forget. the mustang came out first so the camaro was made to compete with the mustang. then when it started blowing the doors off the stang, they couldnt catch up. the mustang came out and seemed to be competing with the vette. then the vette blew its doors off and brought out the camaro since ford never cared to challenge the vette. they opted to challenge the slower car of the two. and i am not a chevy fan. pontiac is my favorite. yes i know its GM also. if pontiac would have made trucks i wouldnt be on this site. and the reason they stopped producing the camaro and firebird was GMs mistake for promoting the corvette so much that they under-rated the f-body's engine instead of telling what it really put out, which was only slightly less than the vette. not 45hp like they rated them. the mustang had nothing to do with them going away. just very good promoting for the vette and bad promoting for the f-body. so -1 on GMs part for screwing themselves and having to quit making the f-body and -1 for ford for making a poor excuse for a muscle car. i will admit the 60s ones were awesome and the 2011 will be interesting to see.

ahh, that's right...the orange one was the one with the vids (OrangeThunder). That pic above is WhiteThunder's truck...he bought OT's turbo setup and installed it on his...so that's OT's setup on WT's truck. WT did have a turbo setup of his own before, but decided on changing to OT's setup for some reason.

you mean that orange one right? well i am pretty sure only 1 of those was a stock lightning that he was racing on the videos. i know the silver one he raced had a whipple supercharger on it.
