As if I didn't already have enough options to choose from... I just found these on ebay. I'm thinking that these would look great as long as you installed a bezel as well. What do you guys think?

This gauge overlay:

With this instrument cluster bezel:

I think that this combo would look better than the first one due to the fact that everything exposed from the bezel cutout would be white. Not sure yet if I'm sold on how they glow at night. I think it could definitely grow on me. Only thing is I would have to pop the needles off with this overlay, and I dread that..

What do you guys think about this combo?

And here's another one...

I wish I could find something similar to the last two overlays, but the in the "indiglo" verses the "reverse indiglo".

sixguy, those look okay and all, but in a stock truck, they would look a bit too over the top, IMO

Yeah, They really don't compare to the look of the Autometer and Simco gauges. I wish I could find an overlay that looks more like them.

I've thought about that too, but after installing the overlays on my truck, I don't think the bezels would line up...you would still see the white-to-black line...

I had that first "overlay" on my silver truck (in the first link). Won't ever buy that kind again...because they're independently lit, you have to wire them in and run a separate switch for those gauges to light up...they don't light up with your light switch like OE gauges. Also, they don't come with glue on the backside. You have to stick it yourself, and it's a pretty thick/heavy vinyl overlay, so the glue does have a hard time keeping it stuck. They're very low quality IMO.

I love the autometers but I just wish they lit up blue instead of the indiglo color...I mean, I don't hate it, but blue just looks so much cooler.

...And here's a pic of my $20 overlays...well worth the money

wow im really thinking about getting some of those white over lays and the bezzle too...thats surprisingly cheap too. a good cheap facelift and while i was in there im thinking about changing to LEDs.

and just curious, if i were to buy a whole new cluster, would i have to take my truck to a dealership and have them do it? i have heard that the trucks wont start with new clusters in them because the computer has to be changed...idk if thats true or not or if it applies to my truck...i have a 97.

Not with yours man. Your whole cluster is all mechanical. The newer trucks have all that PATS stuff, and the digital odometer and all of that. Ours are plug and play I believe, but what about your mileage?
