Wow, Doug. Great post there! You might want to educate yourself a bit more before you come on here slamming other members posts and calling them an "f'n moron". In most cases balancing 38" tires is damn near impossible.

Here's a few threads about what people have done in attempt to fix the "bounce" from such large\over sized tires.

sir if your tire shop can not balance 38's then you need to find a new shop ... **** i have seen 44 balanced that truck i road in and it road as smooth as galss for a truck with 44's. i have even seen a set of 46's that where balanced

but in all reality why not just pop the bead and throw about 2000-2500 20G air soft bb's in each tire ... they work great ... that all is this company sells but just go to wal-mart and use air soft bb's their the same thing at like a 1/4 the cost http://www.innovativebalancing.com/

shackles are fine, but unless you are doing a shackle flip then you arent gonna gain much lift from them. You will also need a set of traction bars because shackle flips allow for more axle wrap

if they are made of cardboard

WTH do you need a drop pitman arm for? You are running IFS you have an idler arm to the right of it that would have to be dropped aswell. I know of a drop pitman arm that will work but its for SAS applications NOT IFS bs pieced together applications

yes, but you dont need one

Have you personally had 40's 44's or 46's balanced... mmm doesnt sound like it. have you personally seen 40,44,or 46's on a machine that said they were balanced? probably not. Heres the difference between me and you, ive ran 40's 44's 46's and 49's and i can tell you theres no way to PERFECTLY balance tires of this size. Sometimes its better just to leave them alone and deal with the extra vibration, the balancing beads work but only when you are going over 20mph slower than that and they REALLY REALLY suck. dyna balancing beads can be put in though the valve stem, but they also have problems letting air leak out the valve stem.

Now 38's on the other hand should be easy to balance, go to a big rig show they can balance them. Specially with such a low profile tire as yours is.

and BTW the setup looks scary as hell, just saying

I'd go with 4.88 for your 8.8 rear. I think that's lowest you can go with the 8.8, maybe a 5.14?, but I think 4.88 would be best since I believe you said this is also your DD? (not that it matters at this point since you're running 38's )
