I have a narrow top console in mine but did that because I already had the bucket seats. I have heard of some guys taking the armrests off too and using a widetop. Either way I love it and wished Ford had done this to begin with, just looks so much better.

I decided to use the original rear stereo control frame as a template, along with the opening of the rear of the console. I cut out unecessary plastic from the plate.

I marked where I wanted to drill holes for the power point housings. I should have used a 1 -1/8" spade bit. I used a 1" spade bit, and had to do some reaming to get the housings in. Then I wrapped the vinyl around after some sanding to smooth the edges. It fits very tight in the mounting tabs, and the power points fit really tight with the extra material from the vinyl assisting to hold them in place. I'm happy with how they turned out.

The holes may be slightly asymmetric, but it's close enough for me!!
what is giving these power? what did you tap them into??

I put the wide top in mine and took my arm rests off. If you dont have seat covers, i think it might look a little funny cause there is holes in the sides of the seats but the covers i have, have velcro sides that i just closed up when i took off the arm rests. mine has custom fiberglassed guages in the front part of the console where there would jsut be a hole in these. I really like mine, and i really like the idea of putting power points in the rear of it. good looking swap man.

I have 8 gauge amp wire running back under my seat. I'm going to tap into that for the power.
