Looking to get a DDMTuning HID Kit but confused on what to purchase?
Hi all -
I just purchased Lightning style heads for my '03 and would like to convert both the heads and fogs to HID.
I see great reviews for DDMTuning kits so I'm leaning towards them. However I'm confused on what I need to get.
Few Questions:
1) I assume the DDM HID Kit Slim Ballast is all I need correct? Does it come with evertyhing or do I need to buy other items as well?
2) What do most go with? 35 or 55W? I'm looking for some blue in the light (not drastic). So perhaps a 7000k-8k 35W?
3) What's the difference between the diff bulb types? Do I get the 9007? I also want to keep the hi/low function. Also which bulb suffix? ST? SU? etc etc
4) In terms of coverting Fogs to HID are they the same kits (DDM HID Kit Slim Ballast)?
Thanks all for the help!

1) The DDM slim ballasts kits come with everything needed to install in the truck. This includes the relay harness, bulbs, ballasts, etc. The digital kits will also no cause any static radio interference like a regular analog (Raptor V2) kits do. (I learned the hard way, but will be fixed soon.
)
2) If you are looking for a slight hint of blue, your best options are to get 35W 5k-6000k or a 55W 8000k kit.
3) If you are wanting to retain your hi/lo function, you will need to order the 9007 bi-xenon kit, which is $15, IIRC.
HIDs suffixes are as follows (thanks Alex):
9007-1, single bulb, no high beam
9007-2, dual bulb. HID low, halogen high
9007-3, bi-xenon, single bulb, moving magnetic base
9007-4, bi-xenon two HID bulbs
4) Fogs can also be used with slim ballasts kits. However, only use 35W, because the additional heat generated by the 55W kits have been known to melt lenses.

9007-1, single bulb, no high beam
9007-2, dual bulb. HID low, halogen high
9007-3, bi-xenon, single bulb, moving magnetic base
9007-4, bi-xenon two HID bulbs
for a pair of 9007-4, you need FOUR ballasts, and the only ones I've seen run upwards of $200+
OP, stick with 35W. luminous output isnt going up when you go to 55W, only glare is, and thats pretty dangerous. you might want the 6000K, which is white with a hint of blue.
A little correction, there are suffixes for HIDs.
9007-1, single bulb, no high beam
9007-2, dual bulb. HID low, halogen high
9007-3, bi-xenon, single bulb, moving magnetic base
9007-4, bi-xenon two HID bulbs

So this is the kit?

Also, I'm looking to do the same thing, but want pure white (yes, I want to be that guy blinding everyone).
So, I figured headlights would be 55w at 5,000 and fogs 35w at 5,000 as well.
Are these easy to install? Also, they come with the bulbs right?

Thanks for the informative replies. They helped tremendously.
The one thing left of my confused mind
is in regards to the different bulbs. I don't know which I need.
9007-1, single bulb, no high beam
9007-2, dual bulb. HID low, halogen high
9007-3, bi-xenon, single bulb, moving magnetic base
9007-4, bi-xenon two HID bulbs
It sounds like I need to stay away from the 9007-4 due to the requirement of 4 ballasts.
Do I use the 9007-1 for the fogs and a 9007-2 or -3 for the heads? I'd like to keep both low and high functionality.
Thanks again!

And for you fog lights, you want to get H10 (9145) bulbs.
Dingus, your best bet to go pure white will be looking around for 4300k-4500k kits. However, my DDM 4500k has a hint of blue in my fogs. Guess it's just the way the light is reflected. Oh well.
