Rear Window Replacement

Well after resealing my leaking rear window in my 2001 supercrew a week later it rains and it is still leaking. I have no clue how this is possible because i know that i had a large solid bead all the way around it. So I am going to pop it back out and take a look at it again. Now my question... I have the solid window and from what I have seen in pictures of the solid window and the rear sliding window the mounting looks the same. Is this true? And if so does anyone know if all the 1997 to 2003 f 150s will work or will i have to look for certain models and certain years? Does it have to be from a supercrew? Thank you

went through the same thing as you, when I pulled it back out ( i know this is going to sound silly but...) I took super glue and filled all of the little slits in the frame of the window. Ya know like where the pieces meet together all around. I also noticed with mine there appeared to be small cracks in the frame, I filled those as well. Anywhere there wasnt a solid piece of frame. Hasnt leaked a drop since. good luck.

I believe the window surround on the outside is different from different cab configurations, but the windows them selves are the same.

here's the thread on window reseal

After buying a used '97 factory tinted slider, which leaked after I installed it, I did some research (note to self: do research before you buy) and discovered pretty much all early ('97-'01+/-) Ford sliders will leak sooner or later (the frames crack). The windows were redesigned at some point, so if you get a Ford slider, be sure you get the newer one (new style has plastic around the edge of the glass, the old style has the edge of the glass exposed).

Thanks for the responses. I read one of the write ups before I did it last time. Its not a hard job just a pain because of all the trim pieces. I am going to continue to do research and I will post of when I try it.
