1997 4.2 miss

Well, 3 days later and now the truck throws a number 1 cylinder miss code. The new plugs and wires fixed the top end surge, but now it blugs when started and lugs in lower rpms. Runs great going down the road on the highway, but driving me nuts around town. Compression test is great, pvc replaced, and egr checks out. Any ideas? Truck has 140 K and been babied

If you have replaced the plugs and wires with genuine Motorcraft, it's probably the coil pack or a fuel injector. The coil pack is more likely, mine did that at 84k.
