315 tires and NO re-gear?

So here is the situation...ive got a 97 f150 4x4 with a 4.2 and 295/75/16's which is considered a 33.5x12. I am about to get new wheels as well DC1 16x10's. My truck runs good now only thing off is the speedo but who cares. Just wanna know if i should run 315 75 16's without reagearin it. I can get a good used set with 50% tread of BFG MT KM's for a cheap price and kinda worried about doin it. They are 34.6x12.4's..so not much diff. Dont get me wrong i would love to re-gear but the price is $2200 for 4.10's. ANYone ran this setup without gears or have any input on the matter?
Thanks!!!

I'm running 35's with 4.55 gears, but I have the 5.4 engine. My performance is ok, but nothing to brag about. I would not even consider running 35's and stock gearing with a V6.

IF you have a manual trans then you will be okay, but your gas mileage will suffer.

I wouldn't run a 35" with stock gearing on any truck regardless of motor

im doing it right now with my 4.2

i do however have a manual trans so i control the shift points and it handles them just fine unless im crusing at 70-80 and going up hills. other than that my gas mileage blows which is the reason im regearing to 4.56

also i have 3.08 gears now

I ran a 37x13.5x17 (10 ply toyo MT's.. HEAVY!)) on a 6" lift, 99 5.4L LS 3.73 gears for 2 years without 1 single issue in the drivetrain. Yah it was a noticeable difference... gears would be the right way to go to get the power back but I never got around to it. It wasn't like half the power was gone.. it was slightly noticable. Before I sold it, 2 ford technicians/mechanics went over the whole truck (on behalf of a potential buyer) from top to bottom along with a few test drives and not 1 problem came up, they stated it was one of the cleanest well kept 99's they had seen. I didn't tow anything or go offroad with it. Shifted smooth, ran great. Oh yah, it had 160k on it when it sold.
