I've had mine a couple years now, still payin for it, but don't plan on gettin' rid of it. I like the NBS but I really love the OBS in stepside and screw. I found a stepside w/ low miles and an awsome color

Well it is a Ford, So if you are waiting for it to wear out, you will be waiting for quite some time.

well the truck i want is a KR F-350 with a power stroke and I have no where near the money for a $60K truck.

Plus my truck is barley broken in with only 120K miles on it, and I have it the way I want it and I really like my truck

im 19, bought mine when i was 16 paid cash for the truck and for all the mods ive doen to it, and at 120,000 miles it runs pretty damn good. have too much money in it (to me) now so i dont see apoint because id never get any of that back. and plus if i got a newer body style f150 i would want to do all the same kind of mods, which is pointless lol. if anything id get a diesel, preferebly a 5.9 cummins

Personally, I don't much care for the NBS at all. Way too funky looking, and I really don't like how short the cab seems compared to the bed. Sure, the new trucks have a lot of nifty things that are helpful in them, like the retractable side steps and tailgate step and what not. But I'm not all that impressed with the styling and the interior seems really really cheap in every single vehicle newer than, say, '06 I've seen, domestic-wise. The plastics used are the same whether its a base-model Pontiac G5, 07+ Silverado, 04+ F-150.

Now, back in '96 when the '97-'03 F-150 came out, I wasn't a big fan at all. I did really like the grille change in '99 and since then the styling has really grown on me. I grew up with a '79 Bronco and '77 F-150 and always wanted a Bronco of my own... and now here I am with a '97 Expedition, so I have the spirit of a Bronco/Centurion, at least...

I agree completely with 4wd150...I am pretty much in the exact same situation...bought it when I was 16 (paid cash) have had it ever since and am right at 120K. For the longest time I felt the itch to buy a new 4dr f150, superduty, or even a new 4dr TRD tacoma. For now, I have my truck setup exactly how I want, it does everything I want and need, and I love the way it drives and looks. Id rather save the money for payments and get a 5.4 & 4R100 for whenever my current drivetrain does decide to quit, plus it would probably tow alot better with a mildly built 5.4 (hopefully close to the newer trucks 400HP at the flywheel) and the bigger 4r100 trans. If I did get a new truck it would have to be a diesel but I just cant get myself to drive a truck that big everyday

All in all, I am being faithful to my truck for its years of service.. guess you could say it that way.
same here. except mines at 180k. i love my truck.

if i were to try to get a new truck anytime soon itd be a super duty 4x4 regcab/long bed

I agree with the majority on 2 key points.

1) I love the styling of the 97-03 F150's (especially the Sport XLT's scab ).

2) It's paid for, has just barley over 100k miles and has given me no real problems at all. This truck just runs great, and even though it sits a lot, it starts up and goes every time I need it to. It's been a totally reliable truck since I bought it brand new in 2002 when I was just 20 years old.

With all that being said, I do see myself trading her in or selling a little over a year from now. I'm looking to consolidate and go back to one vehicle for myself. My daily driver car is about to hit 200K miles. I'm expecting my first child this September, so I now have a real reason to move up to a supercrew F150. Plus, I'd like to treat myself a bit more this time around and get a V8, leather, and 4x4.

It's going to be tough to get rid of my truck, but it's been something I've been considering more and more of resent.

I've got everything I need in a truck that's paid off already. I've always wanted a 4 door screw on 38's/37's and that's what I've got now, no need to get a new one when this one works fine as is.

What is a 00 f150 with 230,000 miles worth. I have sunk more into aftermarket wise than what it is worth right now. It's just the way I like it, and its paid for. There are a few non essential things wrong like ebake cables are siezed , no pads left for the e brake any way. Horn is right pouched just makes a little squeak. The power mirror on the passenger side is also wrecked from when I tried backing into the narrow garage, but screw it runs like a champ and still pulls my buddies 03 hemi with intake, exhaust, e-fans, and a tune. How much more can a guy ask for in a truck?
