2000ish navi engine swap

aside from the obvious computer swap what else would I need to swap in said engine assuming I got it complete with wiring harness and intake and also where could I find a forged rebuild kit for it(rotating kit if it does not have a forged crank)

obviously NOT THE ECM, unless you are swapping in an automatic transmission, sure you can use the navi ECM but it's gonna have to be retuned ayway to work with your manual trans (and it's a PITA to get the speedo correct) might as well just tune your current ECM and save the purchase of the NAVI ECM.

you will need a '97-'03 truck oil pan and hopefully your flywheel is an 8 bolt, otherwise you're gonna need a flywheel, the navi Y pipe, unless do a custom exhaust from the manifold or shorty headers back (you cannot run mustang long tube headers on a truck, and no one offers an off the shelf 32 valve 5.4 truck long tube that I'm aware of).

as far as internals go, any lightning / harley truck / perfomrance 5.4 rod will work, just make sure you get a 5.4 specific piston.

use the navi intake manifold, 42# or 39# injectors, change the cams, keep the exhaust 2.5 inch all the way, a large fuel pump (255lph or better), a 90mm MAF and it'll run well for you if you plan on using for all around uses (trailer pulling, street driving, off roading and occasionally at the track)

hmm that sounds simple enough, but just to let yall know what I want the truck to be is a little torque monster, mainly for towing, off roading and a daily driver.

but about the ecm I guess I was wrong I though I would need it but I guess like you put there it is only for automatics

also currently my exhaust is custom dual exhaust with an x-pipe so I sure there wont be to much modding there
so current list of parts is:
Complete engine minus ECM
39# or 42# injectors
a larger fuel pump 255lph or better
and a 90mm maff

thanks for the info

the ECM and transmission must be programmed to work together and the automatic ecm's don't like being changed to manuals and the manual ecms cannot be programmed to run an automatic trans

your existing mid pipes will need to be replaced, as the 32 valve 5.4 is wider than a 3 valve

and toss a better than stock clutch on the list...

it would be and he'd make more torque, but some people are drawn to the sound of a 32 valve n/a 5.4

well hang on now, so y'all are telling if I just rebuild my 4.6 and put a super/turbocharger on it then I will make more power and torque than on the 5.4 DOHC cause if that is what it is then I would prefer to do just that, I was under the impression I could not do what I originally wanted to do(do the whole PI heads and then turbo the engine) because the compression would be to high
