Truck feels like its misfiring

Its been pretty cold here the last few days, hadn't got out and started my truck in 3 days. It started fine, let idle for like five minutes to warm up since it was still in the twenties. Drove to gas station just fine, then on the way home when it shifting back into first when at stop lights it felt like the truck was misfiring and shaking. It did that only in first gear when got into second it was fine and smoothed out but when went back into first it did it again. No check engine lights or other warning lights. Any ideas?

probably a coil on its way out. what engine? Missfires sometime get stored for awhile as pending codes. You could have it scanned and it might give up what one. If youve never done it you may want to buy the coils on e-bay search "dg508" $65 plus shipping last time i looked. might do the plugs and all if you haven't ever done them. motorcraft plugs torqued to 28 lbs dry no antisieze dielectric grease on the boots.

Just had the plugs done in June and no I didn't put any gas it. Any chance I'm bout due for a fuel filter change that it could be that?

get the codes pulled. Then take a coil from another cylinder and swap them. if the miss move you have a bad coil. I'm going to say there is a 85 percent chance thats the deal anyway. If it were me I'd just order them e-bay coils. Save the good ones in case 1 fails in the future. if you have never replaced them its due.

Bet it was clogged. That can cause premature pump failure..

My truck had the same problem, but for me it did set off the checkengine light. so i put the scanner on it and #3 cylinder had a missfire, come to find out my heater core hose was leaking antifreeze and it was going right into the spark plug hole, fouling the plug and causing it to missfire, i got the hose fixed and put a new spark plug in and now its as good as new

I as well had a problem with the coolant running down and screwing the plug. It would only do it after the motor was nice and warm, very odd, but I finally figured it out when I noticed a drip of green ontop of my plug wire.

As for you, just go get the codes run, that will give you a basline as to where you need to trouble-shoot.

If the problem hasn't repeated itself, I wouldn't worry about it. Your IAC could have been acting up or could have been an engine fart!
