Will not start after core Install

Just completed heater core reinstall. Thought everything went pretty good until I tried to start the truck. Reconnected the battery, and got nothing. No light under hood, no lights in the cab. Electrically dead. Any thoughts? Is there a typical thing that people do during a heater core job that would result in this? I charged up the battery to full charge, and when I tried to connect the cables, positive first, and when I touched the negative terminal it fired off like I was crossing terminals directly?

Had a start issue in mine, but lights and such worked fine. Starter wire came out of the crimper, put a new one on and reconnected the wires, it's all working fine now. Hope you get it working.

you may have taken out a body to frame ground strap i know there is one in that area. if not you deff have somthin shorted. get a volt meter read your batt. then hook the cables up and read again.
