Gears
Yeah I am 4x4 and would be doing it myself. I have rebuilt a few Chevy rear ends but never changed the ratio. What would be a decent brand to go with?

i've heard good stuff about ford racing, yukon, and precision. im asking for ford racing 4.56's for christmas. the cheapest place i've found them is from www.summitracing.com $220 for ford racing 4.56's, even cheaper for cheaper brands.
No. 4.10's won't be low enough for you prolly. You'd be so much more pleased with 4.56's im guessin.
Well, using a gear calculator.. Any gear ratio closest to 4:14(4:10s) would put you back to stock going from a 3:55 gear ratio. If you were going to want to be similar to stock with 3:73s then (4:37)4:30s would put you close, and 4:56s would be even better. Maybe comparable to a 4:10 ratio at stock? My math could be wrong but its kinda hard to screw it up when all you got to do is enter in numbers
I would definatly go with the 4:56's. You will gain all of your lost power plus more. He can't run the 4:30's since it is a 4x4 and the 4.10's would bring you around stock, maybe a little under. IMO 4:56's are your best bet and you would not be dissapointed.
