power window hell...new everything, still slow?

I have a 00 lariat 5.4 ec/sb it had a slow pass window, get 1/4 way down and die until it was 3/4 way down and come back..so i figure idk whats wrong, well I pull the door panel, the frame flexes as the window comes to that point like its binding, ok, so I replace the frame/motor/regular deal since its all one big piece, got it out of a door my uncle gave me and he said it worked good, so I tested it by plugging it in before installing it, worked great, put it all in (after running all over town for the correct rivets and rivet gun) and the damn thing has the same problem! And the motor I pulled out, if i plug it in vrooooooooooop works great just like the one i put in it...so what could it be? i greased everything all up.....There isn't really anything left to replace except the track right? is that hard? how do I do it?

I looked, its only 2 bolts on the bottom, 1 per side on each end, I'll have to pull the window out obviously but thats got to be it...

swapped the seals out....window still does it, but if you push a little on the front it goes up but if you push on the back you have to push super hard to get it to move up at all......Its like the front portion of the window is dragging, is there anyway to adjust these or??? I'm about ready to break out the for sale sign..

so nobody knows? Oh well, I think its binding up, well I know it is, it binds with nothing attach, but without a track its fine...it must be an aftermarket door and not ford maybe, maybe it has been hit before...I'm going to carfax it when I get some time...... or maybe I'll just have a big old ford bon fire? ahaha....

I'm having the same exact issue with my passenger window. It gets worse as the temps get colder. This started happening after I had some body work done to the passenger side of my truck a few years back. I think the body shop didn't put it back together correctly. Motor seems fine, mine seems to bind half way back up, but after that one sticking point, it slams the window shut like it always has. I need to take a look, I've just been too lazy. Hopefully you get it figured out.

Has the window always done this or did this start recently? If this started recently it probably has nothing to do with body damage/repair from years past. I am guessing you got the new motor/regulator assembly from an aftermarket parts store, right? The majority of these motors are rebuilt (sometimes poorly). If the "rebuild facility" determines the motor is ok, they just slap new paint on it and bolt on a new regulator. As a mechanic I have replaced many window motors, and it is all too common to get a crappy one right out of the box. I would recommend getting another one, or if you are willing to spend the $, get a new one from Ford.

Im gonna try this, I bought my 02 a month ago and I know the truck was taken offroad alot, when I detailed it all the windows had mud around the window seals, like they drove it with the windows down, maybe theres some mud down in the door panels by the motors.

Mine has been doing this for awhile now, and I still have yet to figure it out.....I have tried a new motor...nothing. I'm eventually going to take it to a stealership and see what they say.

Mine does something similar also...it'll go down normal about 1/3 of the way, very slow another 1/3, then fine again the last little bit. It's done it since I've had the truck. I also think my truck might've had some work done on the pass. door because the pinstripe was crooked. But it does it with both windows...

no the motor/regulator assembly came out of a working door....without the motor hooked up moving the window by hand it still jams up in the window track...I even tried a different window out of the spare door...to no avail.

Yeah mine's only done it on the pass. side and has ever since I got it and the guy before me got it, so neither of us could figure it out...he didn't try...I quit trying...If anyone figures it out let me know. I've tried everything. someday I'll just find a maroon/gold door to slap on haha.

well mine is the driver side. ford has weak door hinges and mine started when the lovely west texas wind blew my door back. the door would barely shut after that. so i replaced the hinges, door is fine. but the driver window slows and makes a creaky sound halfway up. like they said, much worse when cold. if it aint broke dont fix it. ha. so until mine stops completely ima just leave it alone
