okay so i had some spare time on my hands and we decided to put my 03-06 expy mirrors on his 01 scab heres the results, from far away it looks good but from close up they won't bolt up right i either have to cut part of the expy mirror bolts or cut the sheet metal in the door...

we're planning on ordering jsut one mirror to cut and mess with it

theres a guy with a red 01-03 supercrew that put a set on no problems.

cool idea, i think the PTM 97-03 mirrors look better with the round body.

 

i finally looked at the pics and know whats going on. The supercrew have the thicker/taller rubber door moldings that run horizontal under the windows. since your truck doesnt have those and the sheet metal comes up higher you have the clearance issues.

 

yeah i know cause the doors on the expy and screws are the same, i was going to say that but i was on my phone and i couldnt post

 

expy and screws have the same mirrors and are diff. from Rcabs and Scabs

Same here. Cool idea, but I think the expy mirrors are to square for the 97-03 body style.

 

I guess I'm out of the loop, but what in the hell would make someone think that mirrors from a completely different vehicle/generation would fit?

Even if they did/do fit, they look awful, IMO. The body lines of the pre '04 F150 don't match up to the '03-'06 Expedition mirrors.

 

because i've seen another 00-03 f150 flareside with the front end expedition conversion and the same mirrors, so i thought they would bolt right up

and the 03-06 expy mirrors fit the 01-03 screws and the 97-02 expys

 

yeah i get what you are saying.

with the expy front end swap those mirrors would match alot better! and would belong there.

i have an 06 F150 crew cab (half doors) and a 99 F150 regular cab would this be a straight swap? If so then ill do it just to take some pictures!
