Lift or Lower? Harley or Lightning?..or..?

Hey guys im in a little dilema on what direction I want to take my 2001 F150 Supercrew Lariat. Ive been going back and forth for months on whether I want to do a Harley/Lightning makeover or a lifted makeover. Ive been also thinking of doing a front clip conversion with an 08 Expy for a more stylish look but I know ill be taking this up to the mountains and to lakes seeing as now I have this truck. The only problem with lifting this is that its 2WD , and a 4WD conversion is still up in the air. I guess you can say im looking for something in between a lifted truck and a Harley/Lightning. Style/Speed/ and ruggedness is the focus of my build and if anyone could help and give me insight its much appreciated.

well i had the same dilemma with my truck. i tow the boat and see doos, and go up the mountain to go snowboarding..all the stuff you need with a truck..i was gonna lift the truck just for that matter but i didnt want all the negative side effects a lift brings to your truck (frame stress, ride stiffness, etc) and i like the look of street trucks better. so i just put a 2" shackle in the back to level the truck out, and made it street look, but without lowering it and making it look all ghetto. it is by all means meant for the street, but i personally like the look of it.. i kind of do cringe my teeth everytime i go in the dirt with it when i go up to the mountains, but hey its a truck....its your choice but i think the 01-03 supercrews look awesome set up as a street truck...what exactly are u thinking of doing if you were to go style/speed/handling...?

I was going to go with a Harley replica or something like that. Lift or not my engine is getting an overhaul in the next year. I was thinking of getting an airbag suspension but im not to sure how that would hold up off a main road.

Nothing wrong with a lifted 4x2. As for front end conversions, I've seen 03-06 Expy, 07-09 Expy, and 04-08 F-150 conversions on our trucks and they all look great.

I have an 2001 f150 supercrew 2wd and I plan on getting the 7.5" fabtech lift for my truck.
It will also look good if you do a lightning or harley conversion. I'm going to build up the motor in my truck but I want to but a Lincoln navigator motor in mine.

wow apparantly theres a lot of us that have the 01 screw 2wd. im gettin bigger tires then a 1.5" level kit in the front.. after that down the road id like to do a baja look with long travel suspenison.. and 2wd trucks do just as well in the mud/ mountains if you know how to drive it right.

check out my green truck, it has a fair amount of speed and it can still tow

then do your front end swap and add a touch of custom paint and call it a day
