The Engine Mods that are coming soon!!!
The three mods that made noticably gains for me were;
Xcal-3 with custom tuning
OBX long tube headers
Efan conversion
A couple more when you have these done are;
75mm throttlebody (with porting done to the elbow)
Volant intake
3" single pipe exhaust

I dont know where your getting your sparkplugs from...but i said I was thinking originally the E3 spark plugs...and on summit i can get 8 for $47 and some change...where did you get 20-34 bucks a plug from???? And yea its a budget, but if Im going to spend the money for this, Im going to do it on stuff thats worth it...kinda why I started the thread...

[QUOTE=jbrew;3734927]Yea, I'm not sure if OBX's will bolt up. I know the Pacesetters will, but you need this adapter -
Heres the link to the OBX headers Im thinking about now, they say they bolt up to 46. and 5.4, and they do have a warranty...so I mean, if all else fails, i can always send em back...but that would be a MAJOR PITA!!! So hopefully they will, and like primerib said, his worked so thats a nice boost to the confidence!

Ok, digitalworld and vmp both have the sct xcal listed for $380..but troyer has theirs listed for $450, Im assuming this is because troyer puts 3 custom tunes on it before they ship it out correct?
Although....digitalworld's descritption says that they also procive 3 tunes along with the "canned" tunes...what are the "canned" tunes that each site talks about?

Pacesetters are the cheapest, but you get what you pay for as far as long tubes.
I've had Pacesetters for about 2 years. They fit great, but their long as hell lol. I pulled the 2.5 flange out of the High Flows and welded in a 3" ID to slide over the collectors. The collectors are slip fit , not a bolt up like the OBX's.
Yea, you get what you pay for, but I can't complain so far.

There's more pics , first start , 0-80 runs before and after here -

thanks jbrew! the pics and vids are gonna be extremely helpful when I finally install..as of right now, I'm thinkin I'm gonna go with the OBX longtubes, and an Xcal or a Gryphon..and I really want the on dash read out and controls, so I'm leaning more towards the Gyphon..
anybody against that?
anybody against that?
No problem
Go with whom ever you like as far as tuners. I like the dash pods as well, but I think you can get one for the Xcal 3. Not sure, someone will know.
As far as headers.
Pacesetters are as cheap as $300.
OBX is around a couple hundred more I think.
Then you have Dynatech or Kooks which are $700 - $900..-maybe more, but they are sweet.

1BAF150, read the messages in this thread everyone is trying to help you out
good luck on ordering a gryphon that is no longer offered

I understand that, but I was told that the gryphon was just a custom tuned Evo...there are probably other companies that do the same thing. I'm not set on anything, but I'm also trying to find out whether anyone offers a dash pod for the SCR xcal or not...
...trust me, these responses are benefiting me, I'm reading all of them.

To the OP, I dunno about the Gryphon, but the Xcal-3 should have much more support in terms of good tuners out there. My custom tunes were done by a fella named Matt up in Alberta here and he has close ties to alot of big names down in the USA like Troyer and more. They all exchange info with each other so I was pretty confidant knowing my tuner guy speaks to the likes of a Mike Troyer.

I'm not sure what Joey (User Built54) has. He has the gauges and read outs that run up the drivers side interior, above the dash between the wndow frames (winshield/drivers door). That's what I think you want, something like that. You get all your readouts and they look cool as hell in the dark lit up.
I just don't know where to get a set up like that, - or if you have to piece it together yourself..? They are out there and look much better than the regular pod.

[QUOTE=primerib;3735780]OBX are actually Dynatech knock offs with the exception that instead of cats the OBX has resonators, so if your area requires emissions testing it is something to consider. Both are a full bolt-on with a y-pipe, but lets face it, the Dynatechs are a superior product hands down.
Yea, i live in South Carolina and if there are any laws here other than dont be "to" loud, Ive never even heard of them. Plus, cops in NA(North Augusta) more than likely dont even know of any if there is, which Im pretty sure there isnt...so no biggy. But thanks for lookin out!
And jbrew, yea I would definitely love something like that, my only fear is messing something up when installing stuff like that, because thats additional wiring, plus a few drill taps and threads probably...but hey, i also follow directions well, so if it has a good manual...maybe worth a shot? Ill see if I can get a hold of him and ask him how hard everything was to install. Thanks for the new idea to!

then look at the live wire from SCT, yes the gryphon is a custom tuned edge but PHP is no longer offering them since there is a power cable issue for your of truck
PHP is offering the gryphon for the newer trucks just not the '97-'03
