electrical poltergeist

posting for friend...
02 F150, package unknown, assuming XLT
symptoms:

1. when it rains the truck will not start unless its been running and warm.
2. rain can kill the battery overnight.
3. when driving in the rain (started dry) the radio, windshield wipers, etc. can shut off. he can usually shut off and restart and it resolves the problem.
4. when shutting off in the rain, the heat usually comes on full blast. and the radio might turn on if it was off.

i was hoping this might be a simple seal or corroded wire and that someone has run into a similar situation before. he just hasnt taken it to a mechanice yet, and im pretty sure hes goign to have to. thought i would check here first.

thanks!

he needs to get over it or go inside then, because jacking with the truck isnt going to make it stop. hes (or she) acting very childish!

Sounds like a leaking windshield that is allowing water to reach the GEM (general electronics module). The GEM is the computer that controls all electronics other than the engine. I've had the problem with my 97, and Ford told me it they are familar with the problem. Good luck!
