Vancouver Sun Drives the 2012 F-150 H-D

First things first: Why the hell did Ford choose to make a burly pickup named after a burlier motorcycle look so incredibly girly in the press shots? The inside might be all snakeskin and black leather, but against the pastel hues of the southwest’s golden hour, it seriously looks like something Malibu Barbie would roll. Could this have something to do with the MoCo’s outreach to women?

Unfortunately, Graeme Fletcher’s review of the 2012 F-150 Harley-Davidson doesn’t answer that burning question. Predictably, he focused on more important factors, like handling, off-road performance, towing capacity, and real-world manners. And while I have a total of about 30 minutes seat time in one of these babies—which is why I haven’t written my own review—his impressions seemed fair enough to me.

But there’s one other thing. As someone who likes trucks and motorcycles, I think the pairing of Ford and Harley is a natural one, because if you’re going to have a bike, it’s handy to have a truck for hauling it around. But I tend to agree with the observation that the badging on the Harley editions borders on overkill. Fletcher said he stopped counting when he got to 20, and I’m literally not sure whether he’s kidding. I think that says something. Head over to The Vancouver Sun to read the full review, and check out the glamour shots of the 2012 F-150 Harley-Davidson in the gallery below.
