F-150 Lightning Stands up to SRT-10 Ram

The Raptor SVT’s current performance darling, but before it they built another truck to fight a slightly different battle. That truck was the F-150 Lightning. Where the Raptor was built to be a road-going trophy truck, the lightning (as it’s name implies) was built for speed. Of course it wasn’t the only the game in town. For the Ford unfaithful, there was always the SRT-10 Ram. Suffice to say, both trucks have a natural rivalry.

That competition continues today at the Texas Motor Speedway. They’ve even got on competing colors. In the blue corner is the supercharged 5.4L V8 with upgraded pulleys, an ECU tune, a cold air intake and an free flowing exhuast. His competitor is a 2004 Dodge SRT-10 equipped with an 8.3L V10 and  a cold air intake. Conventional knowledge says the V10 should outrun the smaller Lightning, but with it’s difficult to tell how fast the Ford will be with a host of mods like that.

Watch the vid to see who comes out on top.
