Super Duty Unintentionally Becomes Car Bumper Collector

Super Duty

Just when you thought that trailer hitches were only good for towing things and inflicting pain, this Super Duty finds another use for them.

The struggle of owning a truck you tow stuff with, as they say, is real. But we aren’t just talking about the way a hitch is perfectly positioned to repeatedly bash your shins. We’re also talking about how drivers of plastic bumpered modern cars tend to ignore their presence. Combine that with how uncomfortably close folks like to park to others these days, and you’ve got a recipe for disaster.

Those circumstances have, hilariously enough, turned one particular Super Duty into a collector of bumpers. In a recent Facebook post that went viral, a gentleman by the name of Peter Paul provided photographic evidence of this phenomenon. This marks not the first, or even the second time he’s emerged from a store to find a car’s bumper stuck to his hitch, but the third such instance.

The best part of all this is the fact that in all three instances, the drivers of the cars took off. Without their bumper. And in at least one case, some A/C parts and coolant. Which, even if none of these folks had insurance, seems like a terrible idea. Not to mention an illegal one.

Despite this amazingly bad luck, Paul isn’t mad at his Super Duty and its seemingly magnetic attraction to plastic car bumpers. In fact, he’s getting quite the kick out of it, as is everyone else. “I literally laughed so hard four drops of pee came out,” he remarked. Now we won’t claim to have lost any bodily fluids after seeing his post. At least not publicly.

After all, we’ve gone our entire lives believing that trailer hitches were only good for two things – towing trailers and inflicting pain. But in reality, they make pretty darn good bumper collectors, too.
