Rednecks Mud Crawl

‘Rednecks with Paychecks’ hosts mud races, off-roading challenges, bikini contests and more awesome adventures, Sept. 14-17 in Saint Jo.

Who’s ready for some filthy fun? Now’s your chance to get your monster truck — and perhaps yourself — caked in dirt at the Rednecks with Paychecks Off-Road Fall Mud Crawl happening September 14-17 in Saint Jo, Texas (which is about 100 miles north of Dallas/Fort Worth). And if you don’t want to get your precious Ford truck dirty, there’s always the Barbie Jeep downhill race (hey, the prize is $1,500)!

With a general admission ticket, you can watch the concerts (Koe Wetzel and Midnight River Choir), mud races, downhill racing, redneck bull rides, side-by-side races, and rock racing. And, of course, there will be plenty of badass Ford and monster trucks in action, including the amazing Sail & Scott Green truck jumping plus a truck-to-truck tug-of-war with the winner snagging $4,000.

A four-day pass to RWP is $60 if you buy it now (versus $70 day of). There will be two separate vending areas with a variety of food, drinks, RWP merchandise, stereo systems, off-road accessories, and more. Areas of entertainment include Barbie Hill, New Truck Mud Pit, Big Boys Mud Pit, ATV/UTV Mud Pits, Bounty Hole, and the Main Stage VIP Party Pit.

For off-road enthusiasts, RWP has over 1,000 acres of both deep and shallow man-made mud pits, fun canyons, and creek beds, plus man-made and natural rock courses. All types of terrain are available for everyone from wet-behind-the-ears amateurs to die-hard off-road extremists. Just remember, this is an over-18 event.

Another cool thing: Not only can you have a good time, but you can also feel good in your heart knowing that a portion of proceeds received will benefit the Saint Jo Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Saint Jo Youth League, Wounded Warriors, and American Food Bank. Through the RWP Community Outreach program, Rednecks with Paychecks provides a $500 scholarship to a high school graduate at every school in Montague county plus in the cities of Muenster and Lindsay, Texas.

Now, back to the Barbies. No, not the jeep racing, but the real, live kind of Barbies. You won’t want to miss the World Famous-Bikini Contest on September 16. After that, you may want to get your truck a little messy.
