F-Series sales enjoyed their 15th consecutive month of gains in July as average transaction pricing soars.

Most automotive manufacturers have been having a tough time in the last year and a half or so. But the same can certainly not be said for Ford and its venerable F-Series lineup. The numbers are in for July, and we can now say that the legendary truck lineup has posted its 15th consecutive month of year-over-year sales increases. And that hot streak isn’t the only thing Ford has going for it, either.

“Ford pickups and vans dominated last month, with overall trucks posting an increase of 10 percent,” said Mark LaNeve, Ford vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service. “Combined, pickup, van, and SUVs totaled 153,402 vehicle sales, for a 4.8 percent gain. We have now sold more than 1.1 million trucks and SUVs this year. Lincoln Navigator continues to be the country’s hottest new product, with sales expanding in every region of the United States.”

Of course, the F-Series once again stole the show with a 2.1% increase for the month as Ford sold 70,949 pickups. For the year, total F-Series sales stand at 522,087, a substantial 4.6% increase over last year’s total of 499,327.

The other big news is the continued rise in profitability of the trucks Ford is selling. Average transaction pricing continues to climb at a rate of around $1,500 per truck. Following the close of July, the average price of each F-Series Ford sells now stands at $46,500 as consumers continue to flock to higher trim levels. That figure is a healthy $2,600 above the segment average.

So the competition continues to lag behind despite offering fresher products (at the moment). Which is no surprise, really. After all, when you’ve been dominating the segment for 41 straight years, would you expect anything less from the iconic F-Series?
