Hello all, I know this is a long shot and will need some old school members. There was a discussion about a secret Pimp My Ride vehicle that was listed on ebay, there is a few postings about it but all links are dead. Im hoping and praying someone saved photos or a screenshot of the ebay listing? Or if anyone wrote down the Vin?
I track down the cars of Pimp My Ride for my YouTube channel. I got my wife on the show, still have her car and even got the car done before hers to restore. They are the first two Galpin cars done. I recall the giveaway spot on a few episodes and then nothing came of it. It was on MTV Overdrive site. This was in 2006. So at this point pretty vintage. I know it's a long shot. But gotta try. Don't remember that one. I do remember a doughnut machine in a minivan thinking that was pretty goofy.

No doughnut maker ever was on the show, and surprisingly this truck never was as well. It had an ad at the end of some episodes when they moved to Galpin that it would be web voted for mods on their stheir Certain items used on the pimp my ride cars would then be added to the truck and it would be given away. No payoff ever happened visibly but someone listed the truck on ebay later. Here is the thread to it.

MTV ran a Pimp My Ride / Lincoln Mark LT Sweepstakes. Viewers voted weekly on parts/features from episode cars to add to this Mark LT. The truck got progressively "pimped" with those voted mods (plus Galpin custom work), and it was supposed to be given away to a winner at the end of the season. It was teased in episodes and on MTV Overdrive, but it seems like the public giveaway fizzled or wasn't well-documented publicly afterward

 

It seems to have fizzled but a truck was built and quietly given away. The guy tried to sell itnon ebay. Im just hoping an old timer of the board kept the photos and is willing to share. I found some old broadcast copies of Pimp My Ride and remembered the contest when my wife's episode aired but never anything coming of it. Now even those copies are gone. It's all become lost media.

 

Hey. I actually won that sweepstakes and the Lincoln Mark LT. I thought it would have been a big deal at delivery but they shipped it to a random shipping lot and I went to pick it up and it was dead. They didn't even have a second battery for all the electronics. I will see if I can track down a photo and/or VIN. I sold it the same year of purchase on ebay, origin from Utah. Wild I randomly came across this post!

 

Absolutely awesome! I really hope you can find some photos and the VIN. Either would be great. Both would be epic. Ok so im dying to know. I know it was a black truck. Did they give it custom paint or a wrap? I've got one single photo of Mad Mike very close and it shows the rim, but besides that, nothing.
