Ford has been on top of promoting the 2013 model of the F-150 with press release after press release. As much as we love reading about how awesome their next truck might be, it’s always preferable to see the real deal in action. Luckily, they haven’t shied away from putting the truck in a position to show off. This FX4 Trim F-150 was the pace car for the Nascar Sprint Cup Race at Michigan International Speedway.
It’s packing the new EcoBoost V6 and the 365hp that comes with it. Also, like the Raptor, FX4 models come with hill descent control and Ford’s SYNC software. Also, they get HID projectors and Ford’s revised, blue-oval bearing grill.
Aside from the normal stuff, the truck is basically unchanged. If anything, it’s a cool example of the FX4 that might we worth scoping out later as a bit of Nascar history. A small bit to be certain, but it might just be worth it to have the bumper sticker say “my other car is a pace car.”
